Armed Robbery At Cell Phone Store Leads To Chase In Westchester (Developing)

A T-Mobile store in Westchester was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday morning, March 12, leading to a police pursuit, authorities said.

The armed robbery happened at around 11:40 a.m. at the T-Mobile store at 734 McLean Ave in Yonkers. The suspect fled the scene immediately after the incident, according to Yonkers Police Sgt. Robert Spink. 

Following the robbery, Yonkers Police officers were able to locate the suspect's vehicle near 109 Ashburton Ave. However, when officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspect fled, leading to a pursuit through the city.

The chase ultimately ended at the end of Woodycrest Avenue, and a suspect was taken into custody. 

Sgt. Spink said that the FBI has now taken over the case and that the suspect is no longer in the custody of Yonkers Police.
